confidant

You said I mean a world to you, that without me you wouldn’t know you.

I believed that around you, who wouldn’t if you said it the way you do.

The minute you show affection, I don’t break- I form, I piece myself together,

Not for validation, instead for you - so if you ever break you wouldn’t question my alliance with you.

You crown me as your closest, as your truest alibi, not because you mean it, but because you assume no one would do it for you.

Walk on to call me the sweet names, recite the planed poetry, the calculated words that roll of your mouth faster then a cigarette burns, measure the distance, manipulate every praise offered, but know that I now you and your game better then any other one of your champs, you’d gamble your ace to the knave and if show my face.

I’ll pay the part of the fool and master your tricks, so one day I’d leave grateful for the time killed spent pretending to be a victim of your fools gold.
