I lose every battle I refuse to take part in,

I mess up each bond I refuse to acknowledge,

I blame god for moulding me in misery as I berate all that is around me.

I ludicrously ignore each sigh shining towards a brighter world, suppressing the potential as I evolve all that stands in power.

I impersonate a human capable of emotion while in my mind I pretend to live serene.

The only promise I vow to uphold is to continue to pass my lives this way, in every birth, with every empty soul kept within me,

I continue to live and die for moments that I stole in a pretentious land far away from cold comfort, farthest from me and my frame built around penance and yearn to live and not just stay because I lack the courage to leave.
